The CEDC Board of Directors is comprised of five volunteers appointed by the City Council. In addition, one council member serves as an ex-officio member. Board members are eligible to serve up to three 2-year terms for a total of six years. Members are selected for their business experience and diverse backgrounds. 2007 Board of Directors:- President - Jim Brown, Retired, former Plant Manager at Zurn, Inc.
- Vice President - Bobby Hill, Owner, Commerce Hardware
- Secretary/Treasurer - Rex Giddens, Texas A&M University-Commerce
- Board Member - Dick Latson, Owner, Latson's Printing & Office Supply, Inc.
- Board Member - Eric Russell, Beacon Chiropractic
- Ex-Officio Member - Billie Biggerstaff, former City Council Member
- The Executive Director, Jennette Burnett, was hired by the Board in November 2007. Because of the stability and vision of the board, the city and the executive director, Commerce has been extremely successful in its business recruitment efforts.
